A doll as a person’s prototype is a unique object of traditional culture. Each nation created an anthropomorphic figure in their own image and likeness. The book presents game, ritual, theatrical and souvenir dolls from the collection of the Russian ethnographic museum.
Design features, selected materials, as well as techniques for achieving artistic expressiveness of the doll, reflect the ethnic or regional traditions of their creators living in the vast territory of our country and adjacent states.
