The textbook is a comprehensive and systematic presentation of the main issues of cultural knowledge in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education. The authors saw their main goal in presenting in a holistic form of the content of modern cultural knowledge, show the history of the development of cultural thought, to consider the development of the cultures of the countries of the East, West and Russia from antiquity to modernity, to introduce readers with a categorical apparatus of this discipline, reveal the essence of the main problems modern cultural studies. Along with the coverage of the fundamental facts of the cultural history of mankind, the authors tried to attract additional materials that should contribute to a deeper study of the existence of this training course.
