East and West have fundamentally different ideas about learning, which affect the attitude to children and education. Considering the results of many years of research, Jin Lee shows an important conceptual difference between the Western model of the educational process oriented towards the mind, and the eastern model oriented to virtue. The first sets himself the goal of educating the mind to understand the world, and the latter pays attention primarily to moral and social self -improvement. Cleaning the cultural sources of these two large intellectual traditions, the author shows in detail how these models are manifested in the psychology of the educational process, affect the result of training, attitude to other students, the expression that a person knows the efforts of parents, etc. Despite the acceleration of cultural exchange today, these models of the educational process do not weaken, but withstand the test of time
