The manual reveals the methodological potential of the use of works of small forms of folklore in the pedagogical process of raising and teaching children of early and preschool age. The significance of the small folklore genre, Russian folk games and fun in the awakening of cognitive activity, independence, the bright individuality of the baby, for the development of speech skills, communication skills, the formation of a sense of beauty, as well as the development of musical and singing abilities, is shown. The features of planning the work of the teacher and teachers in groups of early age are described, methodological recommendations are summarized on the use of folklore practices for the comprehensive development of children in groups of younger, middle and senior preschool age.
