The book is the first translation of the first four books of "conical sections" of the great ancient Greek mathematician Apollonius of Pergian. The work of Apollonius, who raised the study of paraboles, hyperbole and ellipses to a new level, also served as the basis for creating new sections of geometry and turned out to be the mathematical apparatus that Isaac Newton used to create the theory of movement of heavenly bodies.
"conical sections" were repeatedly translated into Arabic, Latin and all the main modern European languages. But the Russian publication, with the exception of the first twenty theorems transferred by I. Yagodinsky in 1928, was not yet.
The book is addressed to mathematics historians, teachers and all the history of mathematics
