Collage in design and architecture

The book is dedicated to the history of foreign design of the 1960-1990s, which was aimed at overcoming the stereotype of objects, at the abandonment of the monotony of interiors and to relieve monotony of the urban environment. The collage began to be used as a powerful means of artistic expression. The design sphere turned out to be more mobile than architecture in the creative development of the collage method. It is characteristic that most of the designers of this period are architects in education, working simultaneously in both areas. The book is about the works created by the masters of Italy, the USA, Japan and other countries. The metaphorical and formal-plastic collage is considered as a creative method of postmodernism. The impurity of the interpretation of this method as a new variant of eclecticism, straight-line "citation" of historical styles, the uncritical development of pop culture and kitsch is shown.
