The manual is included in the basic methodological set of the comprehensive educational program of preschool education "World of Discoveries" (under the general ed. L.G. Peterson, I.A. Lykova), ensures the implementation of two areas of educational activity in the senior group within the educational field "Cognitive Development" : The formation of a holistic picture of the world among preschoolers, the expansion of the horizons, the development of cognitive research.
The publication presents methodological recommendations for familiarizing children of 5-6 years old with the outside world, content and system of planning work on the section, notes of modern forms of organizing children"s activities. In the application, the thesaurus of the teacher of a preschool educational organization is given, examples of educational projects of cognitive orientation for implementation in the summer are presented.
