The founder of the Bauhaau and the theoretician of modernism, Gropius for decades consistently asked key questions, aiming at the most painful points of modern architecture, and often formulated exhaustive answers. The proof of his unprecedented sequence is this manifest book published in 1955. It contains an essay, articles, recordings of the architect’s speeches for thirty years: the earliest of the chapters of the book - the Housebuilding Industry - was first published in the form of an article in 1924, the latest - "Architect - Veeter or Leading? - In 1954. Both organically entered the structure of the book, proving that Gropius did not change the beliefs, but only verified in practice (as in the first case) and developed concepts first outlined in the Bauhaau era
