The textbook is intended for students in grades 5-6 who do not know how to play chess or have an initial level of knowledge and aims at students to receive basic knowledge about chess: rules, stages of the game, chess notation. Students will get acquainted with elementary tactical techniques, with algorithms for setting mats to a lonely king, will receive theoretical knowledge about tournaments, types of chess control. The material of the textbook contains many examples and practical exercises.
