In the monograph, the author proposes to consider a career as a social process. In the context of the process approach, the definitions of quarry types are given and the criteria for their sociological analysis are justified. The results of sociological studies are presented to the analysis of the career processes of various social and professional groups conducted during the last two decades of the transformation of Russian society. Regarding the career plans of high school students, their positions are compared with the opinions of parents and teachers.
