The content of this book is at the junction of several sciences: neurobiology, artificial intelligence, computer technology, programming and cognitive psychology. This approach reflects the recognition of the fact that the studies of the brain and mental processes have become the interdisciplinary field of science. The work considers the basic concepts and general fundamental concepts that determine consciousness, thinking, mental representations and images, emotions and other affective states, as well as biological and architectural prerequisites that allow us to describe the biologically realized brain and computer intellectual control systems from a single position. Particular attention is paid to the presentation of knowledge and the language of thinking in these systems, as well as structures that ensure the storage and processing of information. The main models of consciousness proposed in the neuronauk (mainly over the past decade), their neurophysiological foundations, architecture, learning and adaptation processes, architecture of software systems implementing these models are considered.
This book is the first part of the work, it examines the basic concepts that determine the processes that realize consciousness, thinking and emotions in biological and artificial intellectual systems. The second part (models of consciousness. Can a robot love, suffer and have other emotions? M., URSS) is devoted to the currently developed models of these processes.
The book is intended for specialists in the field of neurobiology, artificial intelligence, computer technology, programming, cognitive psychology, philosophy, etc., as well as students of the corresponding specialties. It should be especially noted that students and graduate students of biological and medical specialties can find in it a lot of interesting things from the field of development of computer models of processes that implement consciousness, thinking and emotions, and students and graduate students of computer specialties - get acquainted with ideas put forward by neurobiologists in the field of information processing, carried out in the brain. The publication can be useful for non -specialists who show interest in this issue
