This book is the conversations of Metropolitan Anthony of Surozhsky (1914–2003), which were held by him in 1982 at the University of County Kent as part of readings dedicated to the memory of the Christian poet Thomas Eliot. Vladyka speaks of beauty and creativity, about images and reality, about ugliness and disgrace. This material is unique - it has never been completely published in Russia, and almost none of the many conversations of Metropolitan Anthony has such a wide appeal to poetry and visual arts. Despite the seemingly far from theology, the lord fills her with the deepest theological content
