"Narratives of the ballet body" is an ethnographic study of the social world of the classical ballet. The author’s focus is the bodies of young dancers, the relationship between the body, society and identity, the aesthetics, the beauty and perfection of the ballet - on the one hand, and the physical and emotional pain in the embodiment of this ideal - on the other. Based on the philosophical ideas of P. Burdier, M.
