Autumn of the Russian Middle Ages. The art of the XVII century

The "cranesized" piety of the Russian people of the 17th century, embodied by the art and zeal of masters of beautiful works of painting, carving, sewing, jewelry, forging and minting, casting and valuable business, and the publication prepared in connection with the exhibition of the Autumn of the Russian Middle Ages. The XVII century became the heyday of Russian book, in which, over the past century, traditional genres have changed qualitatively and completely new genres arose that could not be a place in the spiritual world of the Middle Ages. No, even the richest museum collection can display all aspects of the artistic life of such a complex and important period. Unfortunately, it was impossible to include all the monuments of culture of the XVII century, collected in the museum for more than 120-year history.
