The monograph presents an interdisciplinary approach to the problem of assessing the quality of translation. The historical, theoretical and applied aspects, as well as the results of scientific research and practical activities of the author within the framework of this topic, are considered. The appropriateness of interpretation of the concept of translation as the result of critical analysis and as the decision -making process is substantiated. Significant attention is paid to the application of expert system analysis methods for researching the problem of assessing the quality of translation, as well as to substantiating the communicative-functional and structural-functional models of appraisal activity in the interests of its streamlining and objectification. The metacognitive aspect of the study is associated with the problem of the reaction of the recipient and the conceptualization of the quality of the translation in the ordinary consciousness.
