Artist Vladimir Dmitrievich Sverchkov (1821-1888) with related and business bonds, as well as creative and social activities, was associated with four countries: Russia, Finland, Italy and Germany, hence the uniqueness of his fate, held in the pan-European cultural space of the XIX century. Two significant periods of his biography are associated with staying in Italy - the first when he was a pensioner of the Imperial Academy of Arts in Rome, and the second, final stage of his life, in Florence. The book reveals the multifaceted work of the master, among which graphics, battal painting, portrait, genre canvases, more than thirty copies from paintings by old masters, still lifes, decorative paintings for interiors, numerous stained -glass windows
