The art of the Children"s Book of the twentieth century cannot be imagined without Aminadaw Moiseevich Kanevsky (1898-1976)-a brilliant graph, illustrator, satirist artist, creator of numerous book images that have become classical.
We are all familiar with his Pinocchio and Moidodyr, readers of the older generation remember Vitya Maleev, and we represent the scattered from the Basyna Street precisely the way Moiseevich invented him. And the Murzilka is still alive and well - a fluffy creature, in the modern appearance of which the features of a fairy -tale hero, drawn by Kanevsky back in 1957 and became a symbol of the magazine of the same name!
This publication presents an autobiography of the artist, the memoirs of his friends and son - Vladimir Kanevsky, as well as numerous drawings made for children"s books and magazines, illustrations for the works of Russian classics, cartoons for the journal Crocodile.
The author of the introductory article is Anna Yuryevna Chudetskaya, art critic, senior researcher at the Pushkin Museum. A. S. Pushkin.
