The recipes of Anna S. Zarubova (1885-1975), the great -grandmothers of the author, in the literal and metaphorical sense turned out to be a thread of Ariadne - a guide in the tradition and life of people of the culture of the Silver Age, the reason to tell about the old intelligentsia at the outcome of their existence in the middle of the 20th century. The book tells of the environment that in the late Soviet era represented an autonomous cultural phenomenon, and until now the little studied. The culinary book of A. S. Zarubova from the archive of E. S. Fedorova has self -sufficient value as a document of the era, evidence of material culture, including a curious mixture of the historical memory of the Oldvoryan traditions of food and layouts of the Soviet era. In addition to this manuscript, fragments of the memoirs of family members - different generations of this large family are presented.
Anna S. Vyrubova - a representative of the Vladimir branch of the Vryubov family. However, the book contains information about the Moscow branch, in particular Prince Nikita Dm. Lobanov-Rostovsky, belonging to this branch on the maternal line. Rod gave Russia philosophers, doctors, public figures, but in his study, it has long been preserved anachronical taboos. The heroine of the narrative is a direct descendant of the 1812 general of Peter Ivashev, Decembrist Vasily Ivashev and his wife Camille Ledante, as well as the first progress of Russia Maria Trubnikova and many other interesting figures of history. The book also applies to their home chronicle. The wife of the prominent silver architect Vladimir Nikolaevich Pokrovsky (1864-1924), a member of the Theosophical Society, connected by long-term friendly ties with the poet Maximilian Voloshin, Anna S. Vyrubova survived the repression of the Theosophists. 1933-1934, the unique materials of which are also fragmented here. The genre of the book is peculiar - this is a genealogy album where an important role is played by a visual part, as well as a microistoric study and cultural study on the everyday history of several generations of one family.
The book is intended for culturologists, historians of the Russian intelligentsia of the 20th century, local historians, and also is of undoubted interest for a wide range of readers
