Even during the life of Leonardo da Vinci, legends went. He was a mystery to his contemporaries and still remains one of the most mysterious figures in the history of mankind.

He believed that both science and art are through cognition and transformation of the world, and therefore tried to delve into the essence of all the things surrounding it and phenomena - be it the structure of the human body, the flight of a bird, the origin of the rainbow or the theory of painting.
In the book in the book Selected natural science works by Leonardo da Vinci and his treatise on painting are published. Translation into Russian was made by the largest scientists of the twentieth century A.A. Guber and V.P. Zubov
