The book develops a new and relevant problem - the history of ancient Russian literary creativity, integrating poetics, stylistics, textology, ideology and aesthetics of ancient Russian literature. The main types of ancient Russian literary creativity, their signs and evolution for seven and a half centuries are considered. The material for observations is the monuments of almost all the Old Russian genres, from the works of Metropolitan Hilarion and the annals to the early Russian drama and poetry of Lomonosov.
The book is a continuation of the previous large monograph by A.S. Demina ("On the artistry of ancient Russian literature", M., 1998) and draws up a two -volume on the aesthetic history of the literature of Ancient Rus", the basis of which is laid down by the works of F.I. Buslaeva, A.S. Orlova, I.P. Eremina, D.S. Likhachev
