The book reflects the work of Abdula Ramazanovich Akhmedov (1929–2007) - an extraordinary architect, a real member of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences, the International Academy of Architecture, the People"s Architect of the USSR, the laureate of the USSR State Prize.
For the first time, the main projects and buildings of the architect are presented - the results of half a century of practical work in Ashgabat and Moscow. The most expressive construction of Soviet architecture of the 1960-1970s, many critics consider the building of the State Library of Turkmenistan the building created by Ahmedov, in which modernism in the spirit of the late international style has received a new character-a distinctly local, designed to emphasize national and historical values, without having lost the quality of novelty and not having lost the quality of novelty and signs indicating progress.
The publication first publishes autobiographical and professional texts of A.R. Akhmedova, selected articles, interviews, letters revealing his civil position and views on the art of architecture, the judgments of contemporaries about his personality and his architectural heritage are given
