A collection of lectures of the Royal Institute of Great Britain is an opportunity to trace how discoveries in astronomy and physics changed a person’s idea of space. If at the time of the first lecture the flight to the moon seemed a distant dream, then at the beginning of the 21st century people are already studying the possibilities of colonization of Mars. A little less than a century ago it was possible to establish that our universe is expanding. And after only a few decades, scientists tried to recreate the first moments after a large explosion using particle accelerators. In the last century, the scientific idea of what the time has changed completely, and today hopes to look through time no longer seemed utopian. As well as the chances of finding a reasonable life in the universe
