The publication is dedicated to the unique artistic heritage of architectural metalwork in the cities of the Middle and Lower Volga regions, particularly executed in the techniques of cast iron and forging. Unique information is provided about individual foundries and workshops specializing in cast iron, as well as the equipment of these productions in the Volga cities. For the first time, artistic metalwork in the architecture of urban mansions and administrative buildings of the late 19th - early 20th centuries is examined, and the types of metal products, composition features, and ornamental motifs in Volga fences during the eras of historicism and Art Nouveau are analyzed in detail. Lost fences, balconies, canopies, and other architectural elements are described based on old photographs. This book-album is intended for specialists in the scientific community as well as a wide range of readers interested in Russian history and culture.
