The book, prepared by the prominent literary critic and Pushkin scholar S.A. Fomichev, presents an unexplored phenomenon of A.S. Pushkin's creativity - his artistic-documentary prose created in the last years of his life. "Kirdzhali", "Journey to Arzrum", "The Captain's Daughter", as well as a number of other completed and unfinished works reflect the most important stage of the writer's evolution, organically conditioned by his constant creative quests. Pushkin, more than any other writer, appreciated the artistic expressiveness of documents presented through a living relationship with a personality shaped by a particular era.
