About the author
Katie Johnson - artist, teacher and writer. She is the author of nearly thirty books, most of which are devoted to visual arts. She also wrote many articles for The Artist"s Magazine and Watercolor Artist, the last of which she also edited and illustrated for a decade.

Katie grew up in Independence, Missouri, and now lives in a small town, not far from him. She studied in weekly and evening art courses in Kansas, when she was young, but in general she is a self -taught.

Katie Johnson founded a popular blog "draw in nature" (NaturesketChers.blogspot.com) It also gives online lessons on the personal website of Cathyjohnson.info and leads the "Blog of the workaholic" (katequicksilvr.livejournal.com) and a blog dedicated to its own life and creativity (Cathyjohnsonart.blogspot.com).

Inspiration for keeping his own "diary of the artist" came to Katie in various forms. It all started with beautiful illustrated publications that she liked so much in childhood and still likes: these are meetings of fairy tales, stories about nature, children"s encyclopedias, guidebooks and travel magazines. Diaries are a natural movement forward, winding the path of self -development, which began on the pages of those very books, the influence of which Katie felt all her life, and led to the sketch that she does in the diary today.
