The Museum of Arts in Indianapolis is one of the oldest encyclopedic museums in the United States of America. The history of his creation dates back to 1883, when the city Association of Arts was formed. For one hundred and thirty years of existence, the association has become the fifth largest art museum in the United States, leading active exhibition activities and organizing a variety of educational programs for adults and children. Constantly increasing at the expense of gifts and acquisitions, the Museum Funds currently have more than fifty-four thousand works of art, mainly European and American painting, as well as artwork works of Asian and African countries
