The book of Prince Sergey Alexandrovich Shcherbatov (1875-1962), a talented artist, active public figure and art historian, specialist in Russian icon painting, and generous patron, includes previously unpublished texts written by him in emigration. The author of the famous memoirs "Artist in the Vanished Russia" (New York, 1955), he worked for many years on his main work, a manifesto of his artistic and religious worldview. The grand plan remained unrealized, but the scattered publications related to it in hard-to-reach foreign periodicals are collected together for the first time and commented on. The collection also includes a poem by Prince Shcherbatov, discovered in a private Roman archive, as well as articles about him from the emigrant press. The book is supplemented with photographs of the family of Prince S.A. Shcherbatov, most of which are published for the first time. Compiled by A.G. Vlasenko, M.G. Talalay.
