Archives of personnel documents. Educational manual

The textbook is based on a course taught at the Department of Archival Studies, which systematically presents the history of the formation of personal document collections from the 18th century to the present day. It demonstrates the development of the system for organizing, storing, and using this documentation in the 20th and 21st centuries. The history, theory, and practice of a specific part of archival studies, namely archives of personal documents, are illuminated, including issues related to describing and evaluating these documents. Theoretical and practical aspects concerning the storage, use, and access to these documents, as well as determining their value as historical sources, are discussed. It complies with the requirements of the latest generation of federal state educational standards for higher education. The textbook is intended for university students specializing in document studies, employees of departmental archives, as well as anyone studying Russian history, source studies, the history of state institutions, and archival practices.
