Romance - that"s the genre that the reader today, and in the past, unconditionally took the work of Alexei Nikolayevich Apouthin. Romance - and as if there were no other amazing poems and wonderful mistakes. The verdict of the reader"s court is merciless, but, as before, during the flourishing of the creativity of Apukhtin, there were those who tried to break the genre shacks and return the public to the true poet and the writer, and now the bookkeeping takes another attempt. "Archive Countess D." - The story, where the life and morals of the St. Petersburg secular society of the 80s are depicted. It is a meeting of letters, telegrams and notes, which reveal the characters as addressees and one of the most important recipient - Countess D. Total Messages - Fifty-four, they are built in chronological order, and in all you can find a variety of emotions: from love to Hate, from insult to envy. Senders are only nine, and each of them is inherent in its own letter of writing. Thus, letters become peculiar, filled with psychologism monologues facing one person, and they can recreate the picture of the life of the secular aristocratic St. Petersburg society of the last quarter of the XIX century. Apukhtin boldly demonstrates the spiritual void of representatives of the highest light, indicates their hypocrisy, limitedness and moral poverty
