The collection includes articles that cover various forms of the relationship between modernization processes and architectural creativity within the chronological framework of the mid-19th to the first half of the 20th century. Assuming the possibility of moving away from describing the architectural process solely through the category of style, the authors examine materials of eclecticism, modernism, and other movements as a kind of projection of cultural imagination, scientific and technological progress, and the dynamics of socio-economic relations.
