The self -proclaimed “comprehensive prognostic designer”, the inventor of Bakminster Fuller (1895–1983), without a doubt, was a visitor. Fuller’s creations were often bordered on science fiction and included, among other things, the geodetic dome, a three -wheeled Dymaxion car and shower, in which neither water supply nor sewage was needed. Nevertheless, despite his brilliant mind and desire to serve humanity, Fuller’s ideas were often rejected and erased from public memory after his death.
The book “You belong to the Universe” describes how for six decades Fuller sought to “make the world work for a hundred percent of humanity.” The critic and experimental philosopher Jonaton Kits seeks to revive the unconventional practice of “comprehensive prognostic design”, placing Fuller"s philosophy in a modern context and debunk the mythology that has developed around the life of Fuller. Kits claims that the life and ideas of Fuller, namely, to do “as fewer remedies as possible”, today are especially significant for humanity, when it seeks to satisfy the needs of the growing population of the planet using final resources.
Plunging into the colorful world of Bakminster Fuller, Kits applies the most important ideas of Fuller to today"s problems and claims that his ideas are now not only feasible, but necessary
