Auguste Shuazi (1841–1909) - French engineer, historian of architecture and construction equipment. He devoted most of his life to the study and teaching of architecture. His most significant work is the “History of Architecture”, which saw the light in 1899. The first Russian translation, made by the architect N. S. Kurdyukov, appeared in 1910. For many years, this work has served as one of the main manuals for architectural education. A full edition in two volumes is a collection of studies on the history of architecture, performed during the 19th century by a number of large scientists, covering the period from the prehistoric era to the Renaissance.
