The training manual gives general concepts of glassy coatings, a brief historical review and modern ideas about them are given. The technology for applying coatings using plasma spraying is considered. The authors give classification of vitreous coatings, the basic requirements for glaze for firing and cloudless materials. Separately, the issues of glazing ceramics, decoration of glass and triggering with glassy coatings of artificial stone coastal materials are considered. Formation defects and ways to prevent them are characterized. Methods of metalling and applying decorative polymer coatings on the surface of building materials and products are also considered.
