The training manual outlines the conceptual foundations and characterized the technologies of regulatory regulation of urban planning in the Russian Federation. The results of the analysis and generalization of social, professional and legislative interpretations of the concepts of "urban planning" and "urban planning activities" are presented, the goals, objectives and basic principles of urban planning are indicated. Modern methodological approaches are highlighted and the principles of lawmaking and rule-making in the urban planning sphere are interpreted, regulatory documents are given that regulate the process of city formation today. Glossary has been formed, the use of which in the educational process will allow students to quickly master the specific terminology of urban planning. In accordance with the current urban planning legislation of the Russian Federation, the subjects and problems of territorial planning, urban planning zoning and planning of the territories are disclosed in certain sections. A special section is devoted to the standards of urban planning as instruments of city formation. An independent block presents the goals, objectives, principles and technologies for creating and maintaining ISOGD, the prerequisites for the occurrence are analyzed and the content of the concept of "information systems for ensuring urban planning activities" is revealed.
