The main features of the construction of urban vehicles in complex urban planning, transport and engineering and geological conditions are analyzed. The influence of the tunnels under construction on the state of the urban environment is considered, the requirements for the organization, technology and scientific support of construction are given. A review of the domestic and foreign experience of the construction of urban tunnels in difficult conditions is given. The main methods of building urban vehicles without opening the surface of the earth (mountain, shield, puffing) and with opening the surface of the Earth (open and half -open) are presented. Attention was paid to the issues of preventing emergency situations in the construction of tunnels and eliminating their consequences.
