The book is dedicated to the head of the Soviet Urals - the Central Park of Culture and Rest. V. Mayakovsky in Sverdlovsk. It was created at the sunset of the avant-garde era in the logic of functionalism, stony in the monuments of the Stalin era, thawed in the 1960s and survived the system that gave rise to it. His history reflected all the architectural and cultural practices of the Soviet era. The park is shown by the author as a sum of contradictions: between the authorities and the person, the attitude to the formation of culture among visitors and the need of visitors in a vacation free from ideology. As a result, people became no less important heroes of the book: from architects playing children and dancing girls to drinking citizens, hooligans and serial killers. The Central Bank of the History of the Parks of Yekaterinburg/Sverdlovsk is considered in the wide context of the history of the parks
