P.A. Rappoport took a worthy place among such brilliant researchers of Old Russian architecture as M.K. Carger and N.N. Voronin, who laid back in the 1930s. Fundamentals of architectural archeology. For many years working together with them and being the immediate student of the latter, P.A. Rappoport not only accepted and developed the methodology of architectural and archaeological research, but also actually turned architectural archeology into an independent industry both historical-architectural and archaeological science. The creative method of this direction, developed by P.A. Rappoport, synthesized the methods of archeology, history, history of art, theory and practice of architectural restoration.
