The monograph is devoted to folklore and literary archetypes in the poetics of N.V. Gogol. For the first time, the role of archetypes of folk ritual culture in the poetics of the writer, the folklore archetypes in the late work of N. Gogol are systematically considered, the issue of methods and techniques for the implementation of biblical and medieval literary archetypes in the structure of Gogol texts are decided on a new way. The verbal and picturesque discourses in Ecphrasis N.V. Gogol, new aspects of studying the problem of the Danov archetype in the work of the writer are revealed.
