The book "Gospel with a Brief Interpreter" is the first volume of the "New Testament with a Brief Interpreter," which is being prepared for release by the publishing house "Christian Life." Such brief explanations of the Holy Scriptures are very convenient because, in the form of "marginal notes," they do not distract the reader with long extensive comments, but allow one to focus on the Gospel text. This promotes thoughtful reading and helps to better understand the salvific teaching that our Lord Jesus Christ left us. The main feature of this edition is that a brief subtext interpreter is provided for each Gospel, explaining both entire verses and individual words or phrases. The interpretations are based on the patristic understanding of the Gospel revelation but adapted for the modern reader. Compiler: Fr. Boris Balashov.
