The training manual summarizes the domestic experience of antibiotic therapy and antibiotic prevention of infections of the maxillofacial region. Modern ideas are reflected about the role of certain microorganisms in the occurrence of inflammatory diseases, as well as doses and regimes of the introduction of antibacterial agents used for therapy and prevention of inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region. Modern provisions are given on the development of purulent-inflammatory complications in the treatment of infected fractures of the lower jaw and the role of stability of bone fragments as one of the leading etiological factors that contribute to the addition of infection in the treatment of this type of fractures.
