The monograph summarizes information about the biology and economic use of Pinagor, one of the poorly studied species of fish of the North Atlantic. Using modern statistical and mathematical methods, a comparative morphometric analysis of individuals from different areas of the range (Barents, the White and Baltic Seas) was performed, which laid the beginning of the intraspecific differentiation of Pinagor into separate populations. Particular attention is paid to the results of long -term field research of the main aspects of biology and the structure of the Barents -Sea Pinagor population, which is promising for fishing. The data obtained can serve as the basis for the development of environmental measures and justifying the effective and rational fishing of this type, and can also be used to model biological processes and functional relationships in the ecosystems of Barents and the White Seas.
