This story is not only and not so much about the dog. Although at first glance her main hero Mars is a magnificent red Irish setter, charming and naughty, miraculously escaping death in the sea. But in fact - this is a story about people. About how in harsh, rude, biliary, petty -looking people per minute of mental upsurge, compassion can wake up in extreme circumstances - what makes a person a person.
The beautiful, deep Russian writer Ivan Sergeyevich Shmelev (1873–1950) lived a significant part of his life in emigration, and his work was little known to domestic readers. Only at the end of the last century the works of I.S. Shmeleva began to be published in their homeland.
On the pages of the publication, charming Mars is presented in the illustrations of Anastasia Lebedeva.
For secondary and senior school age
