A four -legged wintering winter has a responsible mission to protect the camp from white bears. But in his free time, a cheerful can walk with his tail behind his man Ivan Papanin, watch the work of polar explorers and, of course, to prank. But the polar explorers forgive him everything and on occasion will definitely talk about the pet to everyone who monitors the course of the expedition. At the end of the drift, the cheerful becomes so famous that the glory about him reaches his descendants, one of which is the dog Bert - and tells on the pages of the book the story of the life of his wonderful grandfather.
