“As a child, I had no childhood,” wrote Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, recalling the early years of his life. After the lessons, he and his brothers had to help trade his father, the merchant of the Third Guild, who was holding a grocery shop in Taganrog. Here, in the shop, they made lessons in fitsions, dreaming of escaping from this captivity as soon as possible. The most bad and bitter was that we almost did not have time at all in order to frolic, shoulder, run and relax. The fact that these years have not been forgotten is evidenced by Chekhov’s stories about children, in which he so lively and directly tells about children"s joys and sorrows that you are involuntarily imbued with the most sincere sympathy for his heroes.
When the whole family of the queen rushed to meet his son Volodya and his friend Chechevitsyn, no one even realized that they were not two young gymnasium students who came on vacation, but Montigomo"s hawot, the leader of the invincible, and his pale -faced brother. And these fearless warriors will go not anywhere, but to America to fight with tigers and savages, get gold and elephant bone, kill enemies and hire in sea robbers. A campaign map has already been worked out and all the things necessary on the road were obtained. About how this daring plan broke and why the "warriors" could not go beyond the station of the nearest city, Chekhov tells in the story "Boys" with good irony and great sympathy for the characters.
The book also included the stories "Vanka", "Angry Boy", "Case with the Classic", "White -Least", "Kashtanka".
