The monograph contains information about the distribution, numbers, migrations, behavior, nesting biology, ecology, molting of birds in the territory covering different subzones of the tundra of the Yamal Peninsula and forest -tundra adjacent to the lower Ob. The data was obtained during route expeditions and many years of work at hospitals in different subzons of tundra and forest-tundra (from 1970 to 2000s) Literary materials for the entire period of ornithological research in this part of Western Siberia were also used.
The book consists of two volumes. The first volume includes introductory chapters and species essays of all birds, with the exception of sparrows. The second volume includes the species essays of the birds of the Sparrow -shaped detachment, chapters on changes in the distribution and protection of birds, a list of literature, indicators of Russian and Latin names of birds
