Yuri Pavlovich Kazakov (1927–1982) is a master of the story, one of the best Russian writers of the 20th century, whose books are translated into many languages of the world. Kazakova cannot be entered in any of the literary directions of the Soviet era, nor in any ideological framework. His creative life existed as if outside of time and at the same time in Russian history. His stories seem to readers calm and almost plowing, but they are about the main thing in a person’s life - about understanding himself and his place in the world.
