The work of the famous zoologist, Dr. Wilhelm Hakka is a fascinating description of the life of animals of all parts of the world. The author did not seek to give a systematic review of the animal kingdom. He chased the goal to most fully describe the lives of animals and their habitat. The text is accompanied by luxurious black and white and colored illustrations of an outstanding artist Wilhelm Cunerat, who watched and painted animals in freesty, traveling throughout the light. The proposed three-volume meter is printed by the publication of the St. Petersburg book publishing agent A. F. Devrien, who released the essay of Dr. Hakka in 1900-1902. In our edition, the text is given in modern spelling while preserving the style of pre-revolutionary translation of the Russian zoologist and a poet-translator of Professor N. A. Kholkovsky
