The new book by T.A. Koschemchuk continues the line of polemical literary studies reflections, which runs through all the author's previous books.
The hero of this edition is Andrei Bely, a poet of the early 20th century and a brilliant thinker, whose mature work, 'The History of the Formation of the Self-Conscious Soul', approaching its centenary milestone, remains unread and unexplored. The cultural and philological studies of this work are mostly just involuntary pale reflections in distorting mirrors of modernity. The spiritual image of Andrei Bely is also subject to radical and deliberate distortions - the author considers it his duty to counteract such tendencies in literary studies that have affected Andrei Bely, like few other creators of the Silver Age: all the lies spoken about Russian writers must be exposed.
