"The secret feeling of guilt is always covered up by hatred, which makes it easier to attribute blame to others," wrote Georg Simmel, a German philosopher and sociologist, one of the main representatives of the late 'philosophy of life'. In his works, he explored the phenomenon of enmity and hatred in various human communities, which Simmel defined with the formula 'Man as an enemy'. Sigmund Freud, the world-renowned Austrian psychologist, 'father of psychoanalysis', also paid a lot of attention to the problem of hatred and emphasized that hatred is older than love. A child is born with a piercing cry, which is a reaction to being deprived of the comfortable state in the mother's womb and forced to experience suffocation during childbirth, and after birth, cold, irritation from bright light, and hunger. This piercing cry, if one can speak of differentiated feelings at the moment of birth, is the first manifestation of hatred. In the future, some people manage to control their hateful impulses, while for others, they become a habitual way of behavior, hiding strong subconscious passions. In addition to the works of Freud and Simmel, the book is supplemented with works by other psychologists, psychoanalysts, and sociologists on this topic.
