Analytical philosophy of law. Open texture and definition of legal concepts

Contemporary analytical philosophy of law, being a relatively new direction in the study of traditional problems of legal theory, primarily raises questions related to the peculiarities of the functioning of legal language. Being one of the branches of analytical philosophy of language, where one of the main problems is the possibility of establishing the meanings of linguistic expressions, analytical philosophy of law investigates the specificity, structure, and features of definitions of legal terms. This monograph is dedicated to this topic, in which the following questions are considered: Do legal terms have a uniquely fixed content? To what extent does the understanding of legal language depend on the context of the use of terms? Are the difficulties in defining legal concepts related to the open texture of ordinary language?
The appendix includes translations of some key texts by representatives of analytical philosophy of law.
